July 11, 2010 By: Kousik Category: Vijay - Misc news

Vijay’s 52nd film Velayutham with Jayam Raja is expected to kick start with the launch function in a grand way on July 15th. It is a known fact that Aascar Ravichandran invites big wigs as chief guests for functions of his movies. Earlier Sharukh Khan was rumoured to be part of the fucntion. Now the latest secret buzz is that he has invited Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to add his star value to the function.

Dhoni already shared a good rapport with Vijay earlier when Vijay was the star ambassador for Dhoni’s CSK team during 2008. It is however not sure whether the Indian captain will be able to make it to the function amidst the tight schedule of the team in Srilanka and is yet to confirm his presence. But with our Ilayathalapathy Vijay and other stars sharing stage, it is sure to be a grand gala launch for one of the most expected films.

Velayudham directed by Jayam Raja has Genelia and Hansika Motwani sharing the screen space with Vijay and is expected to be a family entertainer like Jayam Raja’s earlier films. Vijay Antony will score the music for the film. The promo stills of the film are said to have come out very well with Vijay looking stunningly stylish in them. Let’s wait to get a glimpse of them very soon.?

The other technical crew for the movie is confirmed to be as follows:

Art : Milan

Stunts : Stunt Siva

Cinematography : Priyan

Vijay’s Next Successful Lap

May 26, 2010 By: OVF Admin Category: OVFC Special, Vijay - Misc news

There has been lot of speculation oflate about theatre owners creating problems for Vijay and threatening to issue a red card. It is learnt from sources close to Vijay that it is true theatre owners demanded 40% compensation from Vijay. But it is only for Sura and not for all his previous films after Pokkiri as reported by some sites which offer C grade masala stills to users and news papers which talk about actresses bodies and actors six packs when not publishing anti-vijay news.

Also it has to be understood that theatre owners association can only issue red card to release of Vijay films and cannot ban him as reported by some wooden websites which maintain double standards behind reality when it comes to Vijay news. Banning an actor lies within the powers of Nadigar Sangam and Producer’s council.

While it is heard that Vijay is not keen on giving his future movies to Sun pictures, the latter is keen on grabbing Vijay’s 51st film which might be tentatively titled “Kavalan” (Not Kaavalkaaran as claimed everyday by websites copying newspaper news and translating them into English). Compromise efforts are on one side so that this movie is also taken over by Sun Pictures.

In between this scoop about current projects, Vijay’s 52nd film titled “Velayudham” and directed by Jayam Raja will go on floors soon after which there are talks of Vijay doing a movie with Seeman to be produced by Dhanu. There is also a project in consideration which will be directed by Ameer and all these will work out the probablity of Vijay taking up 3 idiots after Velayudham.

With thoughtful selection and planning of his future projects Vijay is all set for his next successful lap in Tamil Cinema. And with the kind of efforts going in, it looks like wooden site will no longer require to publish fake fans articles directed to Vijay, another wooden site might starve for news against Vijay and the star bodies obsessed timely newspaper will have a tough time preparing front page writeups to pull down Vijay.

Fans at OVFC wholeheartedly support Vijay’s decisions as usual and it is known that he will always give the best to silence both his cribbing fans and detracting critics alike. Hail our IlayaThalapathy!

I am satisfied, happy and is at peace : Vijay

May 04, 2010 By: Kousik Category: Vijay - Misc news

Today, Vijay is an icon in his own right- millions of youngsters idolize him. All top producers, directors and heroines want to work with him and his persona gets bigger with each film. He has survived the highs and lows but remains the biggest phenomenon in Kollywood.

Vijay’s new release Sura has taken a bumper opening worldwide, though he is modest enough to agree with critics that it is another mass formula film. In this exclusive interview to Sridevi Sreedhar, he opens up. Excerpts

What is your state of mind?

I am happy, at peace.

Sura has been torn by critics. There is always a negative talk about your films for the first three days of release. Does all this affect you?

It mattered to me a few years back but today I have crossed that stage. And bad reviews do not affect me or my film. It’s the audiences who decide the fate of a film not critics. Success or failures don’t matter to me. I take everything in my stride and move on. And I want to make a point to critics in general that they have all the right to point out mistakes in anybody’s films but not try to keep the audiences away from theatres as it affects the all-important 10 day business of any film.

What attracted you to do Sura, your 50th film?

For me, Sura is my next film after Vettaikaran. I never wanted it to be hyped as my 50th film.

There is an underlying message in the film. If you see my last few films, I fight for my love, friend, mother or sister. But here, hero Sura fights for an entire village full of poor, helpless people. I was very satisfied while doing the film and today (smiles) with the collection figures.

The release of every film of yours is an event in Tamilnadu. And Sura has taken a gargantuan opening in Tamilnadu and Kerala…

I owe it all to my audiences. They have supported me and encouraged me. I can’t ask for more. I give my fans due respect because I believe that you cannot be unfair to people who love you unconditionally.

They say that Sura has lot of political anecdotes. Please comment?

It was not deliberate attempt. After the script was complete, we thought that those dialogues were appropriate to the story as the villain is a corrupt politician.

Which is your favourite song in the film?

I like the two songs in the second half- Thanjavoor Jillakkari… and Naan Nadanthal Adhiradi. We didn’t want the normal introductory song and tried a subtle and underplayed Vanga Kadal Ellai.. number. And there is no Kuthu song in the 12th reel like in all my films.

Tell us about your Siddique directed Bodyguard remake from Malayalam?

First and foremost let me tell you assure you that the title of the film is not Kavalkaran as reported. We are yet to title the film. I saw the original and liked it. It has a different script not following the beaten track of my formula films. Small changes have been made by director Siddique but we have not tampered with the basic story.

Is Sanjay doing the role of your son in the film?

(Laughs) Not at all. We have not discussed anything like that at home.

How was it working with Asin after a long time?

She remains the same though she went to Bollywood in between. Her cooperation, dedication and timing is the same.

What about 3 Idiots remake that is doing the rounds?

It’s too early to talk about it. There were some initial talks about it with Gemini films but nothing concrete has been discussed.
